Meg joined VFS in the summer of 2019 as part of class 3D141. While she was curious to learn more about animation, she also wanted to explore more technical topics. “A lot of my inspiration for learning about crowds comes from the battle scenes in films like Lord Of The Rings,” she said. “They were so incredibly crafted, and it was fascinating to think that an artist could take a small set of actors and turn them into a mass of millions on screen.” During this project, Meg worked closely with the animation data gathered at Beyond Capture and integrated it into the scenes using the Golaem crowd design plugin for Maya. Meg continues to follow her passions for the arts and technology, and now works at Electronic Arts developing tools and supporting artists in developing content as an associate technical artist.
